Effective Date: October 6, 2026
Section 4 clarified October 12, 2026 to describe who pays Stripe's processing fees and how save offers are counted. Nothing anyone pays changed.
This Artist Agreement supplements the CRWN Terms of Service. It binds you when you sign the CRWN artist terms by typing your full legal name before using artist features, and each later version binds you when you sign it. Connecting a Stripe account is a separate step governed by Stripe's own agreement.
If these documents conflict, they apply in this order: (1) a written launch agreement you sign, for the launch service; (2) the launch addendum; (3) the signed artist terms; (4) this Agreement; (5) the Terms of Service. The one exception: section 3 of this Agreement controls over point 3 of the signed artist terms.
You must be at least 18 years of age, provide accurate legal and tax information through Stripe, and have the legal right to distribute all content you upload.
Ownership: You retain full ownership of all content you upload to CRWN.
License: You grant JNW Creative Enterprises Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to: (a) host, store, copy, encode, format, stream, perform, display and deliver your content on CRWN, including downloads where you offer them, to the fans and audiences you choose; (b) show your name, the photos you provide, your artwork, and previews of up to 30 seconds to promote you on CRWN and in emails CRWN sends to your fans; and (c) let CRWN's hosting, storage, email and payment providers do these things for CRWN. CRWN does not edit your recordings, apart from automatic previews and any launch-story clips you select. CRWN uses your content, name or likeness outside CRWN, such as on social media or in ads, pitch decks or case studies, only with your separate written permission.
When the license ends: This license ends within 30 days after you remove the content, except that fans who bought a song, project or digital product keep access to it on CRWN. Membership access ends when the membership ends. Content removed because of a legal claim or a violation of these terms is removed for everyone.
Warranties: You represent that you own or have all necessary rights, licenses, and clearances for your content, including mechanical licenses, sync rights, sample clearances, beat licenses, and the photos and likenesses in it, and that those rights cover selling, streaming and, where you offer it, downloading your content on CRWN, including any stream or sales limits in a beat lease. If CRWN asks, you will provide those licenses within 10 days. You are responsible for paying anyone who is owed a share of your content's earnings, including producers, songwriters, featured artists, co-owners, labels, and publishers.
Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JNW Creative Enterprises Inc., which operates CRWN, and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim, lawsuit, demand, damage, loss, liability, settlement, cost, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to any content you upload or post, including any claim that it infringes or misappropriates another person's copyright, trademark, right of publicity, or other right, or arising out of your breach of this Agreement. This obligation survives the end of your account.
Acceptance: Before you use CRWN as an artist, you accept the artist terms by signing with your name. CRWN records the version you accepted, the time, and the device it was accepted from. When the artist terms change, you are asked to accept them again.
| Artist Tier | Platform Fee | Monthly Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | 12% | $0 |
| Pro | 8% | $49/month |
| Scale | 5% | $199/month |
The platform fee is charged on fan-to-artist transactions (subscriptions and sales). Stripe's card processing fees are currently paid by CRWN out of the platform fee, so they are not deducted from your share. Your share is the amount the fan paid, less the platform fee and any referral or clipper commission you chose to offer.
Save offers: When a fan on a monthly membership starts to cancel, CRWN may offer them a discount to stay, once per fan per artist (currently 40% off their next 3 monthly bills). For those bills, your share and the platform fee are both calculated on the discounted amount the fan actually pays.
Paid platform plans (Pro and Scale) are billed through Stripe, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until canceled. Canceling takes effect at the end of the current billing period, at which point your account moves to the Launch plan; no partial refunds are issued for unused time. Plan prices and platform fees may change with at least 30 days notice; continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. Promotional pricing (for example a partner offer trial) applies only for its stated period and then reverts to standard pricing.
Collection: You appoint JNW Creative Enterprises Inc. as your limited payment collection agent to accept fan payments for your offers on CRWN. A fan's payment to CRWN satisfies the fan's obligation to you.
Transfers: CRWN transfers your share, less the platform fee, to your Stripe connected account, and Stripe pays it out on its standard schedule.
Refunds and disputes: If a fan's payment is refunded, CRWN reverses the matching share of the transfer from your Stripe balance. If a fan disputes a payment, CRWN reverses the matching share while the dispute is open and transfers it back if CRWN wins. CRWN pays the dispute fee. If your balance is short, you owe CRWN the difference.
Claim holds: If CRWN receives a copyright notice or rights claim about specific content, CRWN may place your account on manual payouts and hold the earnings from that content, up to the amount reasonably at stake, while paying out the rest. CRWN will tell you when a hold starts and why. CRWN releases the hold within 30 days after the claim is withdrawn or resolved in your favor, or if no lawsuit is filed within 90 days after the hold starts. If the claim is resolved against you, CRWN may apply the held amount to what you owe under the artist terms and release the rest.
Taxes: You are solely responsible for tax obligations. We may issue 1099 forms as required by law.
Team Splits let you record a revenue-share arrangement with a collaborator. Each Team Split is governed by the in-product Team Split agreement that you and the collaborator both accept when creating it; the accepted version is stored with the deal. A collaborator's share is funded entirely from your revenue. CRWN is not a party to your arrangement with a collaborator and does not fund any share.
What you receive: For fans who subscribe to you or join your free membership, CRWN shows you their display name, tier, engagement and spend with you, city/state/country, and the email address on their account, so you can recognize and contact your own members. You also keep the contact details of fans you import yourself.
Your obligations: You may only import and contact fans who gave you permission to be contacted by you (they joined your list, bought from you, or asked to hear from you), and you confirm this each time you import. Use fan data lawfully and only to operate your own artist business. Do not sell fan data or share it with third parties. Every email you send through CRWN includes an unsubscribe link, and CRWN enforces unsubscribes and suppressions on every send; you may not attempt to contact a fan who has unsubscribed. If you export fan data out of CRWN, you are solely responsible for how you use it, including compliance with applicable privacy and anti-spam law. Abuse of fan communications is grounds for suspension.
Fan personal data is otherwise managed per our Privacy Policy. You may not extract or scrape fan data except through CRWN-provided features.
By You: Remove content anytime. Account deletion removes your profile within 30 days, cancels fan subscriptions, and processes outstanding payouts.
By CRWN: We may remove or disable access to content, or suspend or close an account: if we receive a copyright notice or other rights claim; if we believe in good faith that content infringes someone's rights or breaks these terms; for fraud; or as the law requires. We may restore content after a valid counter-notice as the DMCA allows. Repeat infringers lose their account under the Repeat Infringer Policy at thecrwn.app/dmca.
CRWN is not a record label, publisher, distributor, or manager. We do not guarantee any minimum revenue, subscribers, or exposure, except as expressly stated in a written CRWN offer you have accepted.
